HOW THERAPY WORKS
I take a collaborative approach to therapy.
Together, we explore the different pathways you might take in your healing journey. Along the way, we select from a constellation of therapy techniques to find what works best for you.
The Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM) is the heart of my practice. This therapy framework is helpful for addressing issues that just don't seem to resolve themselves by talking alone.
CRM is a psychological therapy that aims to clear distressing emotional memories from traumatic experiences by reprocessing them in a resourced state.
Being resourced means that the nervous system feels safe and isn’t engaged in an active defense response (fight, flight, freeze, or dissociate). Defense responses can block the natural resolution of emotional distress following a traumatic event, causing issues such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
CRM is a unique combination of effective healing techniques taken from across cultures, history, and scientific literature to build a resource scaffold in every session. CRM resources include breathwork, sound, symbolism, and guided imagery using all five senses.
The goal in CRM is to fully clear the root emotional wounds that cause internal conflicts and develop a positive relationship to self by increasing awareness, communication, and collaboration between all parts of self.
